Rai 1 to feature maritime heritage in Veneto and Calabria

Rai 1 will feature two programs on September 5 focused on Italy's maritime heritage and coastal landscapes.

“Azzurro-Storie di Mare” will explore the Veneto region, specifically the city of Chioggia. The episode covers local maritime traditions, such as the craft of pipe-making, and examines the relationship between the city and the lagoon. The program also highlights the economic importance of the local fish market and the role of Pro Loco organizations in preserving regional traditions.

“Linea Blu – Porti d’Italia” will focus on the Crotone coast in Calabria, traveling between Capo Colonna and Le Castella. The episode features geological explorations of cliffs and promontories, as well as conservation efforts for the Mediterranean coralligenous habitat. Additionally, the program explores the history of ancient Kroton and features an underwater archaeological look at a Roman shipwreck carrying marble from Asia Minor.
