Rai 3 to investigate Modena and Udine cold cases

The Rai 3 program ‘Misteri dimenticati – Blu notte’, hosted by Carlo Lucarelli, will feature two significant Italian cold cases in its upcoming episode on September 26.

The broadcast will examine the ‘Modena Monster’ case, involving a series of ten murders of young women, primarily drug users and sex workers, occurring over a period of less than twelve years in Modena and its province. The program explores whether these deaths were the work of a single serial killer or a result of the violent environment surrounding the victims.

Additionally, the episode will cover the ‘Surgeon of Udine’ case. This investigation focuses on a series of precise, surgical-style abdominal wounds inflicted on at least fourteen women in Udine since 1971, investigating the possibility of a single perpetrator behind the crimes.
