Rai apologizes after cutting end of ‘The Da Vinci Code’

The Italian public broadcaster Rai faced significant backlash from viewers after the film ‘The Da Vinci Code’ was abruptly cut one minute before its conclusion on Rai 2. The broadcast was interrupted to make way for the sports program ‘Il Processo del Lunedì’.

Viewers expressed their frustration on social media, criticizing the broadcaster and questioning the value of paying television license fees. In response to the outcry, Adriano De Maio, Rai’s Director of Films and Series, issued a public apology. He attributed the incident to a ‘technical problem’ involving the complexity of transmission systems and errors related to the alphanumeric sequences that control programming flow.
