Rai moves Mi Manda Rai Tre to prime time to counter Milo Infante's new show

Italy's public broadcaster Rai is scheduling two special episodes of its daytime investigative program “Mi Manda Rai Tre” for prime‑time slots on Tuesday 8 September and Tuesday 15 September. The broadcasts will directly compete with journalist Milo Infante’s debut on Mediaset’s Rete 4, where his new investigative series “Verità Nascoste” launches on 1 September.

The decision follows Infante’s recent move from Rai to Mediaset after a long career at the state broadcaster. Rai’s director Viale Mazzini aims to use the well‑known “Mi Manda Rai Tre” – hosted by Federico Ruffo – to retain audience share and challenge Infante’s entry into the evening schedule. The program, traditionally a daytime staple on Rai 3, will be promoted to the evening slot as part of Rai’s broader strategy to strengthen its primetime lineup.

Rai hopes the move will translate the show’s strong daytime following into higher viewership in the more competitive evening band, positioning the network against Mediaset’s new offering.
