Rai plans to sell Teatro delle Vittorie in 230 million euro restructuring

Rai, Italy’s public broadcaster, is planning to sell the Teatro delle Vittorie as part of a broader restructuring strategy. The sale is part of a larger plan to divest 15 properties, a move estimated to generate approximately 230 million euros. The broadcaster aims to reduce maintenance costs for unused facilities and reinvest the proceeds into more modern, functional structures.

The Teatro delle Vittorie, a symbolic site for Italian television, is expected to be decommissioned by June 2026. The relocation of certain productions, such as the game show ‘Affari Tuoi’, to Milan is also a factor in the decision. The sale requires authorization from the Ministry of Culture, which has expressed interest in the properties.

This divestment strategy follows a policy of retaining only functional assets. While the move has faced opposition from various figures, Rai executives maintain that the decision is a necessary adaptation to economic realities and urban planning needs.
