Rai updates channel identifiers and replaces Rai Scuola

The Italian public broadcaster Rai has implemented several changes to its digital terrestrial and TivùSat channel lineups. The 'HD' suffix has been removed from the identifiers of all Rai channels across these platforms.

Additionally, Rai Scuola has ceased broadcasting on digital terrestrial channel 57 as of October 1. It is being replaced by a new channel named ‘Italiana’, which focuses on Italian territories. While the linear channel has been discontinued, the Rai Scuola archive will remain available on the RaiPlay platform under an e-learning project label. The decision to replace the educational channel has faced criticism from academics and political figures, resulting in a parliamentary inquiry and a public petition.
