Lidia Poët series debuts on Rai 1

The historical crime drama series ‘La legge di Lidia Poët’ is making its debut on the Italian television network Rai 1. Originally a Netflix production, the series follows the life of Lidia Poët, the first woman to be admitted to the Italian Bar Association.

Set in late 19th-century Turin, the story depicts Poët, played by Matilda De Angelis, as she fights against legal discrimination and social prejudice after being stripped of her right to practice law simply because of her gender. The narrative blends investigative crime elements with a personal struggle for emancipation and legal recognition.

The production was filmed extensively in Turin and various locations across the Piedmont region, utilizing landmarks such as Palazzo Carignano and Villa Barberis to recreate the historical setting. The series features a cast including Eduardo Scarpetta, Pier Luigi Pasino, and Sara Lazzaro.
