Noos: Alberto Angela explores addictions and medical breakthroughs
The upcoming episode of the scientific dissemination program "Noos – L’avventura della conoscenza," hosted by Alberto Angela on Rai 1, will focus on several key topics including neurosciences, medicine, and archaeology.
One major segment explores human addictions, ranging from substances like alcohol and drugs to behavioral compulsions such as work, technology, and shopping. Experts such as psychiatrist Giovanni Martinotti and Emmanuele Jannini will discuss the brain mechanisms behind these behaviors and the nature of affective addiction.
The program will also highlight a medical breakthrough involving Italian gene therapy using CAR-T cells, which has successfully treated severe autoimmune diseases in ten young patients at the Bambino Gesù Hospital in Rome. Professors Franco Locatelli and Fabrizio De Benedetti will present these findings.
Additionally, Gabriel Zuchtriegel, director of the Pompeii Archaeological Park, will discuss recent excavations and provide an in-depth look at the "Doryphoros of Polykleitos," a significant marble sculpture found in Pompeii.
