RAIA Grid launches 86,000 km fiber network in Indonesia

RAIA Grid has been officially launched in Indonesia as a wholesale fiber backbone designed to serve as a digital superhighway. Operated by PT Infra Fiber Teknologi (IFT)—a joint venture between Arsari Group and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH)—the network spans over 86,000 kilometers of fiber.

The infrastructure utilizes an open-access model to provide connectivity for telecommunications operators, data centers, cloud providers, hyperscalers, and corporations. It is intended to support 5G, fiber-to-the-home (FTTH), and inter-data center connections to meet the growing computational and AI demands of the country.

Distinguishing itself through an AI-native approach, RAIA Grid integrates machine learning, artificial intelligence, and agentic AI into its network planning, deployment, and operations. This includes using AI for demand prediction, route optimization, and predictive maintenance.
