Raichur Minister orders water management for drought-hit farmers

Minister Ajay Dharmasingh has directed officials to ensure proper water management for farmers at the tail end of the Tungabhadra Left Bank Canal. During a meeting in Raichur to address the district's drought situation, the Minister emphasized prioritizing drought-affected areas.

Currently, five taluks in the district have been declared drought-hit, with plans to declare more in the near future. The meeting addressed critical issues including drinking water shortages, agricultural activities, irrigation problems, and fodder availability for livestock.

Minister Dharmasingh noted that the Chief Minister is giving special priority to Raichur, stating that the government's ambitious ‘Prajasewe’ program will be launched from the district. He also instructed officials to act with responsibility to ensure government schemes reach the public effectively and to maintain close supervision of all developments in the region.
