Raika Bradasic to present jewelry collection inspired by Porvenir stromatolites

Goldsmith Raika Bradasic Cárdenas will present a contemporary jewelry collection titled ‘Estromatolitos: Inspiración, Arte y Territorio’ in Punta Arenas this November. The project is funded by FONDART Regional.

The collection is the result of artistic research inspired by the stromatolites located in the Laguna de los Cisnes Natural Monument in Porvenir, Tierra del Fuego. These geological formations, created through the interaction of microorganisms, water, minerals, and sediment, serve as a metaphor for life, territory, and memory.

Bradasic, who is both a goldsmith and an actress, uses 950 silver, copper, and stones to reinterpret the natural textures, layers, and cracks of the stromatolites. The pieces aim to establish a symbolic link with the landscape by translating geological processes like sedimentation and erosion into metalwork.
