Rail disruptions on Cegléd line after fallen tree damages overhead lines

A fallen tree near Ferihegy caused overhead lines to snap on Monday morning, leading to significant rail disruptions on the Cegléd main line near Budapest. MÁV reported that trains cannot pass through the section between Kőbánya-Kispest and Vecsés.

As a result, replacement buses are operating between Kőbánya-Kispest and Vecsés, where railway tickets are accepted on the 200E bus. Suburban services (S50, G50, and Z50) are running in split sections: between Budapest Nyugati and Kőbánya-Kispest, and between Vecsés and Monor, Cegléd, or Szolnok.

Long-distance services are also affected. Trains from Szeged, including Napfény InterCity services, are only running between Cegléd and Szeged. The Cívis InterRégió trains are being diverted via the Újszászi line and will not stop between Szolnok and Budapest Nyugati station. Commuters should expect significantly longer travel times and transfers.
