Rail Vikas Nigam Limited secures ₹359 crore railway contract, shares rise 3% and opens GM recruitment
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Navratna public‑sector undertaking under India's Ministry of Railways, won a ₹358.97 crore order from East Central Railway to double the 41 km Sitamarhi‑Raxaul line in the Samastipur division. The contract includes construction of bridges, stations, platforms and related earthworks, with completion expected in about three years. Following the announcement, RVNL's shares climbed roughly 3% to a day high of ₹227.39, and the company set August 18 as the record date for its final dividend of ₹0.71 per share.
In parallel, RVNL issued a recruitment notification for two General Manager positions. Candidates must hold B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech degrees in civil engineering, with salaries ranging from ₹1.2 million to ₹2.8 million per month. Applications are to be submitted offline by 25 August 2026.
