Raila Odinga Junior clarifies viral Kilgoris video

Raila Odinga Junior has issued a clarification following a viral video that showed him greeting a crowd through a fence in Kilgoris. The footage had sparked social media criticism, with some users accusing him of being disconnected from ordinary citizens.

In a statement, Raila Junior clarified that the encounter did not take place at President William Ruto’s private residence, as some had suggested, but at a public airstrip. He explained that the fence seen in the video is a standard safety barrier designed to protect the aircraft landing area.

The incident occurred while he was in Kilgoris to attend the traditional engagement ceremony for Charlene Ruto. Raila Junior noted that he had just alighted from an aircraft when residents recognized him and waved, to which he responded in a normal manner.
