RailTel secures Rs 166.8 crore EPFO work order for IaaS

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has secured a work order worth Rs 166.80 crore from the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). The contract involves a one-year extension of RailTel’s existing Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) engagement, which includes additional components and is scheduled for execution by February 9, 2027.

Under this arrangement, RailTel will provide the computing infrastructure, such as servers, storage, and networking resources, necessary to support EPFO’s technology operations and digital services. This includes support for initiatives like the Passbook and Management Information System (MIS) services, the Centralised IT Enabled System (CITES) 2.01, and the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme.

The order follows a series of recent government technology wins for RailTel, including a Rs 119.19 crore cloud services order from the Department of Posts and a Rs 334 crore e-office upgradation order from Indian Railways. These contracts reflect the company’s ongoing strategy to expand its business beyond traditional railway telecom operations into cloud services, data centers, and digital government projects.
