Railway disruptions reported in Bengaluru and Sri Lanka

South Western Railway has announced several train cancellations and route diversions in the Bengaluru region from October 26 to 28, 2026. The disruptions, affecting services at KSR Bengaluru, Yesvantpur, and Yelahanka, are due to girder work between Tiptur and Honnavalli Road. Ten services are scheduled for cancellation, while six trains will be diverted via alternative routes, skipping several stops including Tiptur and Tumakuru.

In Sri Lanka, the state rail operator has suspended all train services on a key section of the central line. The suspension affects the route between Rambukkana, Peradeniya, and Gampola, effective October 24. This disruption impacts the critical corridor connecting Colombo to the hill country, and passengers are advised to seek alternative transportation.
