Railway enthusiasts gather in Poland for heritage and industry events
Railway enthusiasts and industry professionals recently gathered in Poland for events focused on the history and future of rail transport. In Gniezno, the VI Congress of Railway Enthusiasts and Friends took place from October 2 to 4. The three-day event included discussions on the revitalization of inactive lines, the maintenance of vintage rolling stock, and railway investments in the Wielkopolska region. Activities featured workshops, tours of the Gniezno locomotive depot, and trips on the Gniezno Narrow Gauge Railway.
Additionally, members of the Polish Tourism Society participated in a transport and tourism session in Poznań. The group visited the FPS Fabryka Pojazdów Szynowych factory, where CEO Piotr Wasilewski led a tour of the 105-year-old facility. The visit focused on the production stages of modern rolling stock and discussions regarding industry challenges, including standardization and market requirements.
