Railway guidelines for passengers who miss their station
Passengers who miss their intended train station due to sleep must follow specific railway protocols. If a passenger realizes they have overshot their destination, the recommended course of action is to disembark at the next available station.
Existing tickets for a specific destination cannot be used to travel in the opposite direction. Passengers are required to purchase a new ticket at the station counter or via digital platforms to return to their original station. While traveling on an existing ticket in the wrong direction is not permitted, passengers can consult with the Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE) or railway staff for guidance on available return options and procedures.
To prevent such incidents, travelers are advised to set mobile alarms for their arrival times and inform fellow passengers or coach attendants of their destination.
