Railway incidents reported in Surat and Assam

In Surat, India, a foreign national died under suspicious circumstances after a dispute on the Golden Temple Express. The individual, approximately 45 years old, reportedly engaged in a physical altercation with passengers and used a fire extinguisher during the conflict. Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel removed the man from the train at Surat station for questioning. During the process, he collapsed and was declared dead at Smimer Hospital. Authorities have registered an accidental death case and are using his mobile phone to establish his identity, as no passport or identification was found on his person.

In Assam, a major accident was averted when forest guards successfully signaled the high-speed Rajdhani Express to stop as a herd of elephants crossed the tracks near Hojai. The guards alerted the loco pilot and the Lumding railway control room, allowing the train to halt at a safe distance. Assam Forest Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah praised the quick coordination between the forest department, the train pilot, and the railway control room for ensuring the safety of the wildlife.
