Railway Reform Authority plans new train schedules in Romania

The Railway Reform Authority (ARF) has launched a project to modernize train travel in Romania, including Botoșani as one of 41 analyzed cities. The initiative aims to introduce a “cadenced schedule,” where trains depart at regular, predictable intervals to better serve commuters and travelers.

To achieve this, the ARF will collect data on passenger movement patterns and current transport needs. The project involves a 24-month implementation period following a contract signed between the Romanian firm TTL Planning SRL and the French company Systra SA. The goal is to create an integrated system where regional, metropolitan, and long-distance trains are synchronized to minimize waiting times during transfers.
