Railway strike causes train disruptions in Calabria

A national railway strike in Italy, organized by the Sgb and Cub unions, is causing disruptions to train services through Tuesday, September 8. The protest is primarily driven by demands for a renewal of the railway sector's contract.

In the Calabria region, the impact is concentrated on regional services and certain long-distance connections. Specific cancellations have been reported on routes connecting Reggio Calabria with Catanzaro Lido, Lamezia Terme, Paola, and Cosenza. Additionally, some Intercity services on the Reggio Calabria-Bari line have been affected, impacting travelers moving between Calabria and Puglia.

While regional and Intercity services face cancellations, high-speed rail services have reported only sporadic delays. Trenitalia has noted that guaranteed service windows are provided on weekdays from 6:00 to 9:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00. Passengers are advised to check the status of their specific trains before traveling to the station.
