Railway tourism expands across Paraná and São Paulo

Railway tourism is expanding in Brazil, with established routes in Paraná and new offerings in São Paulo. The Curitiba to Morretes route in Paraná has seen over 5 million passengers since its inception in 1997. The experience has evolved into a comprehensive tourism package, offering various travel categories including luxury options, integrated dining, and connections to destinations like Ilha do Mel.

In the state of São Paulo, the Trem da República operates between Itu and Salto, with passenger numbers projected to reach 50,000 by the end of 2026. Additionally, the CPTM is launching ticket sales for its 'Expresso Turístico' in November. These excursions utilize classic trains with restored locomotives and 1960s-era passenger cars, traveling from São Paulo's Luz station to destinations including Paranapiacaba, Mogi das Cruzes, and Jundiaí.
