Raimundo Cutrim discharged from hospital after facial paralysis diagnosis

Raimundo Cutrim, the former Secretary of Public Security for Maranhão, has been discharged from Hospital São Domingos in São Luís following a diagnosis of left-sided facial paralysis. While initial reports suggested a stroke, medical examinations did not confirm that, and the exact cause of the paralysis remains unclear.

Cutrim is experiencing difficulty speaking and an inability to close his left eye. He will continue his treatment at home with medication and physical therapy. His legal defense intends to petition the court for authorization to allow a physiotherapist to provide treatment at his residence due to his physical limitations.

Cutrim is currently serving house arrest as ordered by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) in connection with a Federal Police investigation known as the Tech Office case. The STF recently maintained his house arrest status in a 9-0 vote, upholding a decision by Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
