Rain disrupts Mexican Independence Day parades

Heavy rainfall has disrupted Independence Day civic-military parades across different regions in Mexico.

In Hermosillo, authorities canceled the scheduled parade involving primary and secondary schools, as well as public security contingents. Brigadier General José Manuel Guevara Castillo, interim commander of the Fourth Military Zone, confirmed the suspension following weather reports from Civil Protection indicating persistent rain. The weather event is linked to a low-pressure area off the coast of Bahía de Kino.

In Juárez, officials modified the parade route rather than canceling it. Due to flooding on Cuba Street, the Municipal Education Directorate announced that the procession will instead begin on Panamá Street and proceed along De los Insurgentes Avenue to Constitución Street. The event, which includes members of the Secretariat of National Defense, the National Guard, and various educational and cavalry groups, is expected to last approximately one hour.
