Rain forces draws in County Championship Division Two matches
Rain interrupted play in two Rothesay County Championship Division Two matches, resulting in draws for both Northamptonshire and Middlesex.
In the match against Derbyshire, Northamptonshire was in a strong position to secure a victory, reaching 326-6 while chasing a target of 349. Ricardo Vasconcelos led the effort with 132 runs, supported by George Bartlett. However, poor visibility and rain forced umpires to end the match, resulting in a draw. Northamptonshire remains four points behind Kent in the Second Division standings.
In Bristol, Middlesex was denied a win against Gloucestershire as weather intervened on the final day. Chasing 362, Gloucestershire fell to 145-9 and appeared close to defeat before rain stopped play with 41 overs remaining. Middlesex's Harry Duke contributed 94 runs in the second innings, while Gloucestershire's JT Langridge took 5-87.
