Rain or Shine clinches PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinals berth

Rain or Shine Elasto Painters have officially clinched a spot in the PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup quarterfinals following a 125-123 victory over Blackwater Bossing at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Despite holding an 11-point lead with less than three minutes remaining, Rain or Shine narrowly escaped a comeback attempt by Blackwater. The Bossing closed the gap to a single point late in the game, but Rain or Shine secured the win to improve their record to 5-3. Aaron Fuller led the Elasto Painters with 24 points and 19 rebounds, while Caelan Tiongson contributed 22 points.

With this win, Rain or Shine joins Magnolia and Phoenix Super LPG as teams from Group B advancing to the final eight. Head coach Yeng Guiao noted that while the team survived 21 turnovers, there are still areas requiring improvement as they look to secure the best possible seeding in their remaining elimination games.
