Rain postpones Tsitsipas‑De Minaur match at Washington's Mubadala DC Open
Heavy rain in Washington, D.C. forced organizers of the Mubadala DC Open to postpone the first‑round singles match between Greece's Stefanos Tsitsipas and Australia's Alex de Minaur. The contest, originally slated for the evening of 29 July 2026, was moved to the following day, 30 July, at 20:00 local time.
The delay also affected other scheduled matches, with several doubles games cancelled for the day. Tsitsipas, fresh from his recent ATP 250 title in Stuttgart, entered the tournament with a 12‑1 head‑to‑head advantage over de Minaur, who is defending the title he won in Washington last year. The winner of the postponed match will face 17‑year‑old Cruz Huett in the second round.
Both players remain in good form, and tournament officials announced the revised timetable via social‑media channels, noting that the rest of the program will resume on day three.
