Raindrop raises $50M in Series A to improve AI agent reliability
Raindrop, an AI agent reliability company, has raised a Series A funding round led by CRV, bringing its total funding to $50 million. The round included participation from existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners and Y Combinator, as well as researchers from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Thinking Machines.
The company specializes in detecting semantic anomalies and “silent failures” in AI agents—instances where an agent performs incorrect actions, such as misinterpreting policies or misusing tools, while still appearing to function normally within traditional monitoring metrics. Raindrop’s platform analyzes the execution traces of agents to identify tool misuse and behavioral shifts caused by model or deployment updates.
Alongside the funding announcement, Raindrop introduced “Simulations,” a new product currently in research preview. Simulations allows engineers to replay real production traffic and existing test cases against proposed agent changes. This enables teams to detect unexpected behavior changes and performance degradation before updates are shipped to production.
