Rainstorm displaces residents in Ghana’s Krachi Nchumuru

A severe rainstorm in the Krachi Nchumuru District of Ghana’s Oti Region has caused widespread destruction, displacing numerous residents and leaving many households homeless. The storm heavily impacted farming communities, including Grubi, Kokose, Kwame, and Akura, where several homes lost roofs or suffered significant structural damage.

Affected residents have appealed to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the Krachi Nchumuru District Assembly, and philanthropic groups for urgent relief supplies and assistance to help rebuild their lives and livelihoods.

Shadrach Njebi, the Krachi Nchumuru NADMO District Director, has deployed a rescue team to the impacted areas to assess the scale of the damage and monitor the safety and well-being of the residents. NADMO has stated its commitment to providing necessary support to the communities affected by the disaster.
