RaiPlay launches FOMO docuseries about Roman students

RaiPlay has launched “FOMO – Fear Of Missing Out,” a 12-episode docuseries following a group of students at the Liceo Vittoria Colonna in Rome. Released every Thursday, the series tracks the students' final school year, from the first day of classes through their graduation exams.

The production explores adolescence by documenting daily experiences such as friendships, first loves, school exams, and social milestones like Erasmus programs and prom. A central theme is the psychological phenomenon of “Fear Of Missing Out,” highlighting the anxieties and expectations of transitioning into adulthood.

The series integrates digital communication into its storytelling, using chat messages, voice notes, screen recordings, and social media stories to reflect how the online and offline lives of this generation are inextricably linked. Directed by Pietro Daviddi and David Gallerano, the project combines docuseries realism with teen drama aesthetics, utilizing handheld cameras and natural lighting.
