Raipur Police dismantle interstate fraud gang in Pune raid

Raipur Police have dismantled an interstate fraud syndicate that has allegedly defrauded over 100 people of billions of rupees since 2005. The gang targeted wealthy businessmen and high-net-worth individuals by claiming they possessed a chemical formula capable of manufacturing real currency.

To instill fear and gain trust, members of the group claimed affiliations with the ‘D-Group’ of underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim. Following a complaint from a businessman who lost 1.13 crore rupees, police tracked the gang to a luxury resort in Khandala, Pune. During a raid, authorities seized over 4 crore rupees in cash and the chemicals used in their fraudulent schemes. Seven suspects were arrested in Pune and have been brought to Raipur on transit remand, bringing the total number of arrests in this case to nine.
