Raise-a-Reader campaign funds literacy programs in B.C

The Raise-a-Reader campaign is currently active in Barriere and Clearwater to fund local literacy programs through Yellowhead Community Services. Fundraising efforts include community tables and various events, such as a hot-dog fundraiser and a ‘Socks for Literacy’ initiative.

All donations collected through the campaign are being matched at 60 per cent by the provincial government. The funds are earmarked for youth literacy initiatives, including free tutoring in subjects like math and English, reading programs, and outdoor learning camps. These services are designed to support local children and busy families by providing cost-free educational assistance.
