Raisio construction site thefts spark police call for tips across Finland

Finnish police are investigating a suspected theft at a construction site in Raisio's Varpeenseutu district. The incident, believed to have occurred on the night of 28‑29 July, involved the removal of tools and equipment from a building under construction, with the total value estimated in the tens of thousands of euros. The Lounais‑Suomi police department has asked the public for any observations or information that could help the investigation.

Separate thefts were also reported in the region. In Lapua, thieves stole GPS‑controlled devices and display units from two tractors, valued at about €50,000. In Soini, a haul of 84 steel pipes, each three metres long, was taken from a construction site, with losses exceeding €10,000. Both the Pohjanmaa and Lounais‑Suomi police departments have issued appeals for tips, providing email addresses and phone numbers for witnesses to contact them.
