Raiz denies Zionism accusations over Culture Club t-shirt

Raiz, the frontman of the band Almamegretta, has addressed online accusations of Zionism following a controversy regarding a Culture Club t-shirt worn during a recent concert. The backlash stemmed from interpretations of the shirt as a political statement, linked to the British band's recent song ‘We Will Dance Again’, which was dedicated to the victims of the October 7 Hamas attacks in Israel.

In a social media response, Raiz clarified that the clothing was merely “a tribute to one of the musical projects that formed me during my adolescence” and held no political significance. He expressed frustration over the situation, noting that the controversy escalated from a post by a stranger to include personal attacks and death threats directed at his children and relatives. Raiz indicated he may pursue legal action against those who have crossed the line into harassment and threats.
