Raj Thackeray deletes documentary on Adani-Modi ties
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has removed a documentary from his social media platforms following a request from the Mumbai Police commissioner. The film, produced by Hotmail founder Sabeer Bhatia, detailed the alleged long-standing friendship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani, alleging that the Indian industrial landscape is being handed over to the Adani Group.
Thackeray noted that the documentary had garnered over 4.8 million views on X (formerly Twitter) alone. While he complied with the police request out of respect for the force, he stated that his objective to bring the issue to public attention had already been achieved.
Thackeray clarified that his opposition is not directed at any specific individual but is a stance against the rise of monopolies. He argued that the government should foster a diverse range of industrialists to create employment and national wealth, rather than favoring a single entity that could pose a threat to the nation.
