Raja Casablanca figure Mohamed Rahimi passes away

Mohamed Rahimi, a long-standing figure at Raja Casablanca affectionately known as ‘Youari’, has passed away in a Rabat hospital following a prolonged illness.

Rahimi’s connection to Raja Casablanca spanned over five decades. He originally joined the club’s youth team as a goalkeeper in the 1960s, but a traffic accident ended his playing career, leading him to serve as the club’s equipment manager. He was widely regarded as a living encyclopedia of the club’s history.

He was the father of Moroccan international footballers Soufiane and Houssine Rahimi, both of whom began their professional journeys at Raja Casablanca. His death has caused significant emotion within the Moroccan football community and among the supporters of the ‘green jersey’.
