Rajasthan Assembly Monsoon Session begins amid political tension
The Monsoon Session of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly has commenced, setting the stage for intense political debate between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition. The session is expected to address contentious issues including the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), farmer welfare, employment, and allegations regarding donation theft.
Prior to the session, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma met with BJP legislators, urging them to highlight the government’s development initiatives in sectors such as water, electricity, and infrastructure. Sharma asserted that the current administration has achieved significant progress in a shorter timeframe than the previous Congress government and encouraged MLAs to counter political criticism and misinformation.
The opening proceedings included legislative formalities, such as tabling reports on bills that received the Governor's assent, and obituary references to honor several deceased leaders, including former Chief Ministers Y. Patil and N. Bhaskar Rao.
