The Rajasthan state government has introduced the Global Mental Health Assessment Tool (GMHAT), a web‑based digital platform designed to identify mental health disorders scientifically. The system generates instant diagnostic reports and connects patients with psychiatrists via telemedicine, aiming to improve access in remote and rural areas.

Implementation will begin at Jaipur Medical College, Jodhpur Medical College and AIIMS Jodhpur under the Raj Mamta programme, which was announced in the state budget as part of the "Mental Health for All" initiative to curb depression, anxiety and suicide. Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar and Principal Secretary Gayatri Rathore highlighted the tool’s role in early detection, evidence‑based treatment and data‑driven monitoring of mental‑health trends across the state. A high‑level meeting with UNICEF and the University of Manchester was held to discuss rollout.
