Rajasthan government announces employment milestones and honorarium increase
The Rajasthan government, led by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, has reported significant progress in employment and social welfare. BJP State President Madan Rathore stated that the administration has facilitated over 1.93 lakh government appointments, with recruitment processes ongoing for 1.18 lakh positions and preparations underway for another 70,031 posts. The government aims to create 10 lakh new jobs in both public and private sectors, with a long-term plan to generate 20 to 25 lakh jobs through large-scale industries.
To support rural entrepreneurship, the state is initiating a 500 crore rupee investment to provide loans of up to 10 lakh rupees at minimum interest rates through MSMEs and the Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad (Rajeevika). Additionally, over 10,000 crore rupees in bank credit and 1,000 crore rupees for livelihood promotion will be made available to women's self-help groups.
In a separate welfare measure, the state has approved a 10 percent increase in the monthly honorarium for Asha Sahyoginis. Effective October 1, 2026, their monthly payment will rise from 4,959 rupees to 5,455 rupees. This decision fulfills a commitment made by Chief Minister Sharma during the Raksha Bandhan festival to support frontline health workers.
