Rajasthan Human Rights Commission orders probe into RSS official's alleged police assault

The Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission has ordered a high-level investigation into the alleged assault of RSS district Pracharak Krishna Avtar at the Naraina police station in Jaipur.

Commission chairman Justice G R Moolchandani has directed senior police and administrative officials to provide CCTV footage from the station covering the period between October 11 and October 12. The commission also requested medical records of the injured Pracharak, police station general diary copies, and details of any preventive actions taken against him.

Following allegations that the individual was beaten while in custody and subsequently hospitalized in serious condition, the commission noted that the suspension of involved personnel may not be sufficient. The Inspector General of Police has been instructed to ensure the probe is conducted by an officer of Superintendent of Police rank.
