Rajasthan monsoon withdrawal expected from September 19

The monsoon is expected to begin its withdrawal from Rajasthan starting September 19, according to the meteorological department. However, the season is entering its final phase with heavy rainfall continuing across several districts.

In the Udaipur division, extreme rainfall was recorded, including 200 mm in Aspur, Dungarpur. In Salumber, the Sarni River began flowing over a bridge due to intense rain. The Punjela Dam in Aspur also saw significant water levels rising. Other areas experiencing heavy rain include Chittorgarh, Banswara, and Jaisalmer.

In Jaipur and Ajmer, rainfall reached up to four inches, while in Tonk, the rain has damaged harvested crops. The weather shift has caused daytime temperatures to drop by as much as 7 degrees Celsius in some regions. While eastern Rajasthan may see continued rain through September 20, most parts of the state are expected to become dry from September 21 onwards.
