Rajasthan opposition leader criticizes BJP over municipal election results
Rajasthan Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following the results of the municipal elections. Jully stated that the election outcomes have created cracks in the BJP’s urban strongholds, noting that the party secured only 4,100 seats out of more than 10,000 wards.
In contrast, the Congress party won approximately 3,600 seats, while independents and other parties secured 2,270 and 170 seats respectively. Jully highlighted significant losses in areas previously considered BJP bastions, including the Chief Minister’s home region of Bharatpur and the district of Pali. He argued that despite the deployment of government machinery and extensive campaigning by leadership, the electorate has sent a clear message regarding accountability and urban management.
