Rajasthan police enhance security for women during Navratri
Police in the Rajasthan districts of Salumber and Rajsamand have intensified security measures to ensure the safety of women and girls during Navratri celebrations. Under the ‘Shakti Suraksha Abhiyan’ (Women's Safety Campaign), authorities have activated the Kalika Patrolling Unit to monitor Garba and Dandiya events, religious gatherings, markets, and public spaces.
In Salumber, officers will be deployed in plain clothes to monitor suspicious activities and prevent harassment. In Rajsamand, police officials conducted inspections of event venues, focusing on entry and exit points, parking, lighting, and crowd management. Organizers have been instructed to utilize CCTV cameras effectively and coordinate closely with security volunteers.
Both districts have implemented increased patrolling and flag marches to maintain law and order and provide a secure environment for participants during the festival.
