Rajasthan Police launch month‑long anti‑child‑labour and trafficking campaign

The Rajasthan Police will run a state‑wide operation called “Umang‑VII” from 1 June to 30 June 2026 to combat child labour, bonded child labour and human trafficking. The drive follows directives from Police Director General Rajiv Kumar Sharma and additional DGP Havasinh Ghumaria, who have issued detailed guidelines to all police commissioners, IGs, and district heads.

Special rescue teams of four officers each will be formed at police stations, receiving pre‑deployment training. Nodal officers of Additional Superintendent rank have been appointed in each district to coordinate with the Social Justice, Women and Child Development, Labour, and Child Rights departments, as well as NGOs and child welfare institutions. The initiative aims to enhance detection, rescue, and rehabilitation of vulnerable children across Rajasthan.
