Rajasthan political parties announce candidates for civic elections

Political parties in Rajasthan have intensified preparations for upcoming civic elections. The Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) is participating in the Banswara municipal council elections for the first time, announcing candidates for 20 out of 60 wards in the tribal-dominated region.

In Nagaur, the Indian National Congress has announced candidates for 49 of 60 wards, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has named 46. Internal party dynamics have surfaced in Nagaur, where the Congress decision to field Praveen Solanki instead of former president Mangilal Bhati in Ward 10 has created a potential uncle-nephew contest.

In Beawar, the BJP has released candidate lists for the municipal council and four municipalities within the district. For the Beawar municipal council, the party has announced 57 of 60 candidates. In Salumber, the BJP has completed its list for all 25 wards. Discontent over ticket distribution has led some local members, such as Mahesh Garg, to file nominations as independent candidates.
