Rajasthan political tension rises ahead of panchayat elections
Political activity in Rajasthan is intensifying ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress engaged in heated rhetoric. Following the BJP's success in recent urban local body elections—where the party formed boards in 204 out of 309 municipalities—Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has called on party workers to maintain their momentum at the village, block, and district levels.
BJP leaders, including Minister Jogaram Patel and Deputy CM Premchand Bairwa, have asserted that the party's strength lies in its continuous presence among the public. They have criticized the Congress party for lacking a clear vision and internal cohesion. Conversely, the political discourse has also touched upon broader issues such as the functioning of the Election Commission, the INDIA bloc, and the reliability of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
