Rajasthan reschedules Panchayati Raj election dates

The Rajasthan State Election Commission has revised the schedule for the first three phases of the Panchayati Raj elections. The changes were made to account for religious sentiments and public concerns regarding the Dhanteras festival. Under the new timeline, polling for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members has been moved forward by one day in the first three phases, while the fourth phase remains unchanged.

In the first phase, Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti voting will occur on October 22, with Panch and Sarpanch polling on October 24. The second phase will see Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti voting on October 28, and Panch and Sarpanch polling on October 30. The third phase includes Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti voting on November 3, and Panch and Sarpanch polling on November 5.

In Udaipur, district administration officials have issued strict directives to printing press operators regarding election-related materials. To comply with the Representation of the People Act, all posters, pamphlets, and booklets must clearly display the name and address of the printer and publisher. Authorities warned that strict action will be taken against any operators who fail to follow these guidelines or print material intended to improperly influence election outcomes.
