Rajasthan sees record rainfall and surge in Ranthambore safari bookings

The Meteorological Department reported that eastern Rajasthan experienced light to moderate rain, while western areas saw scattered showers and thunderstorms. Pali district recorded a historic 161 cm of rain in the Jaitaran area, the highest amount recorded in the state.

At the same time, the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve opened advance safari bookings for the October‑December season. Within two hours, about 40,000 tourists registered, including roughly 14,000 foreign visitors from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and the Netherlands. The new online portal handled the traffic smoothly, blocking around 20 million suspicious cyber‑attack attempts and keeping seats available for popular dates.

Deputy Conservator of Forests Manas Singh highlighted that the system aims to make bookings more transparent, user‑friendly and secure for both domestic and international travelers.
