Rajasthan urban local body elections 2026 schedule announced
The 2026 urban local body elections in Rajasthan have commenced with training for polling teams and the announcement of the election schedule. In Jaipur, training sessions for polling officers and presiding officers began on August 26 across 14 locations in the city and rural areas. District Election Officer Sandesh Nayak inspected the facilities and emphasized the importance of conducting elections in a free, fair, and fearless environment, warning that disciplinary action will be taken against personnel who fail to attend the training.
The State Election Commission has scheduled the elections for 309 urban bodies, including 10 municipal corporations, 47 municipal councils, and 252 municipalities, to be held in two phases. In the Sirohi district, nominations will be accepted starting August 27, with the deadline set for August 31. The first phase of voting is scheduled for September 9, followed by a second phase on September 11. Counting of votes for both phases will take place on September 14.
