Rajasthan urban local body elections see BJP and Congress deploy contrasting campaign strategies

Campaigning for the urban local body elections in Rajasthan is intensifying, characterized by contrasting political strategies. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is utilizing high-profile roadshows led by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma to mobilize voters and leverage organizational strength.

Chief Minister Sharma recently held a significant roadshow in Bhilwara, where he emphasized the government’s development achievements and advocated for a ‘triple-engine’ government by securing local-level support. His scheduled campaign includes mega roadshows across several major cities, including Udaipur, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Alwar, Pali, and Kota.

In contrast, the opposition Congress party is pursuing a localized approach. Their strategy focuses on grassroots networks, ward-level candidates, and specific civic issues to counter the BJP’s high-profile campaign and organizational machinery.
